Geocashing Starts!!!!

For the second half of this semester, I am going to introduce Geocaching. Although I just start knowing Geocaching, I already love this outdoor sporting activity. Have anyone tried Geocaching before? It originated from US, but now it is popular around the world.
It is an adventure, a treasure hunting, although most of the "treasure" you found maybe not that valuable~haha. It is an experience to explore something unknown.
The vedio below will help you understand better of Geocaching. I'm sure you will like it.

  1. Vivi, This is very interesting and is something that I want to participate in after viewing the youtube video! What a great way to keep people active and get them exploring in their neighborhoods or various neighborhoods around the world! I am thinking about making an account so I can learn more about this program and see if there are any around the syracuse area! Great topic for schools as well because walking field trips could be centered around finding a geocaching treasure-could be tied into a mapping and social studies unit.

  2. I always found geocaching to be a spin-off of urban spelunking or the exploration of man made caves and tunnels. I wasn't aware that it had taken off to become such a popular medium on its own. It seems like it would have a lot educational potential if used correctly

I think we can create many activities that using Geocaching not only for students but also for all age groups. Thank you Vivi for raising this issue :)

  8. Vivi...Geocoaching is also new for me. I've learnt from your blog and it is very useful for me. It is popular around the world but in Thailand I think it is popular for only specific group. In the future it may be popular amongst all groups.
