It was thrilled to have a teleconference with Patrick from Price Waterhouse Cooper (PWC). What makes more excited is Patrick was an international student who is now working in American industry. He truly introduced us tons of useful information of working in evaluation and assessment department in a leading enterprise. As an international student, I am always confused of how to be chose and accepted in a American company. PWC is a worldwide cooperation building relationships that create value for business. Students always feel proud entering PWC after they graduated in China. I am interested in technology-based learning, and am willing to working in industry after I finished my study. Completing my master's study makes me considering to learn more about evaluation and analysis. Patrick's talk encouraged me to pursue my dream in order to work well with different experts from different background.
As for my ISD model for this semester, I am going to use Romi's FEA model to create my since my case is more focuses on Front-End-Analysis. With the possible causes and possible solutions from my analysis, my model will be more like a circle on instead of with arrows and squares.

I too enjoyed Patrick's presentation. I have heard great things about PWC last semester from Jerry and to know that Jerry has a personal connection with someone who works for the company is GREAT. My main focus and ultimate goal is to work for educational companies that focus on k-12 content. I would like to be a part of the design and development team to create materials, whether it is computer-based websites, electronic educational toys (i.e. leap frog), or designing the curriculum for educational television programs or a company that focuses on Prevention of Bullying in schools. I am all over the place on what I want to do, I am interested in so much so it doesn't matter which one comes first. With that being said, PWC would be a great stepping stone for everyone coming out of the IDDE field to work at to gain an educational experience. I would like to apply for PWC next year when I graduate, provided I find a position that I am interested in. I also like the diversity of PWC pertaining to the numerous locations around the world which is perfect for international students such as yourself. You will have the opportunity to work in China or stay in the United States or even explore a new country. I love to travel and exploring new places so it would be great to work in another country.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing some of the sketches of your model as you progress through the last 4 weeks of the semester. I am still working on mine and it has been a struggle. My model's topic is on implementing technology in middle schools, but I feel as though my model can work for K-12 and not just middle school (6-8th grade).
